Behavior

We are working very hard at school lately on our behavior as a class. We are quite talkative, have trouble listening and following directions. Please talk with your child about what is appropriate school behavior versus inappropriate behavior. Also, the issue of respect and kindness are ideas we struggle with as a whole group. I want my dinosaurs to get along and treat one another fairly. Thank you so much dino-parents for your continued support.

Spelling Concern

I am worried about our spelling scores from last week. They were not as good as usual. I realize we had Halloween last weekend and then Election Day on Tuesday, but let's make sure we are expecting and encouraging our students to study their new words each day. :)

Decker's Dinos Learning Academy

Dear Dino Parents,

In an attempt to reach my students (your children) with greater effect, I am starting an afterschool learning program in our classroom. Basically, twice a week I would like to keep as many students as possible for an hour to practice our reading, writing and math skills. Since the students will have been in school all day already, our afterschool activities will be as fun and exciting as possible. I want to ensure that all of my little dinosaurs succeed in 2nd grade. I am willing to do everything within my power to aid them in their growth and development. In order for your child to participate you must be able to pick them up after the program finishes each day. We will begin our program on November 1st, 2010.

Details:

Mondays – 2:45 – 3:45 p.m.
Wednesdays – 2:45 – 3:45 p.m.
